The main purpose of this application is to allow individuals with Aphasia, a communication disability, to schedule events for themselves throughout the day. As such it is focused on limiting text throughout the user experience and instead uses colors, icons, and images to represent different activities. It was developed by a team of Computer Engineering seniors at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as part of a capstone project. The project was sponsored by Quality of Life Plus, a non-profit focused on aiding veterans, and was proposed by a speech therapist working in the VA. Although this was developed with a particular individual in mind it is meant for all individuals with Aphasia and actually can be very useful for any community that may prefer visual-based communication rather than text-based one.
